Visual Thinking Strategies

Here’s a simple but powerful way to engage with art by asking three simple questions:  1.  What do you see going on in this work of art?  2.  What do you see that makes you say that? and 3. What else do you see?  This approach requires no knowledge of art history, just the ability to see and describe what you see.  The meanings will come naturally from this process.  This works with any age and especially with groups.  Try it!
